We help our employees invest in their retirement both by offering a 401(k) and by being an ESOP.
401(k) savings plan
Our commitment to providing excellent benefits includes incentivizing employee savings for retirement by offering a 401(k) plan. Employees are automatically enrolled at a 6% payroll deduction after 90 days. You can change this amount at any time. SCJ contributes to your retirement via the ESOP contributions as described below. The ESOP has proven a better value in recent years, and company retirement contributions have been focused there.
Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP)
SCJ became a 100% Employee-Owned company in the fall of 2019. After completing one year of employment and working at least 1,000 hours, you will be enrolled in the Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) retroactively to January 1 of your first anniversary year. Employees accrue shares in the plan annually based on compensation at no cost to themselves. All assets in the ESOP come from SCJ.
