SR 20 is a significant state highway and scenic byway that carries an annual daily average of over 4,000 vehicles. Improvements at SR 20 and Canyon Street represent the first of five projects identified in the Twisp Economic Revitalization Master Plan to be designed and constructed. The intersection is an essential multimodal crossing location for pedestrians, public transit, and commercial traffic. Significant community benefits include improved pedestrian crossing, TranGO bus stop, ADA access to the crossing and bus stop, traffic calming, separate left-turn lane, landscape, hardscape enhancements, and improved safety with better illumination and signage. SCJ also helped the Town create the budget and obtain $475,000 of federal funding.
